10 Powerful Prayer Affirmations During Pregnancy: Speak Life Over Your Baby

One of my favorite things to do that brings me so much peace and comfort is to pray over my babies in the womb. I did this with Joahna while I was pregnant with her, and it became such a habit that every morning, throughout the day, and at night, she is still getting her mama’s prayers.

Praying over your pregnancy, and repeating affirmations over your body and your unborn is one of the most powerful things you can do not only for yourself, but also for your baby. This doesn’t have to be an elaborate prayer, but can be short and sweet. This also helps with bonding throughout the pregnancy, and will get you into a habit of protecting your child with prayer.

Below, I share some of my favorite bible scriptures that I speak over my babies. Some days, I will repeat all of them, and some days just a few. I usually do this first thing in the morning during my prayer time. I simply close my eyes, give thanks, place my hands over my belly, and recite the scriptures. Doing this has helped keeping the negative thoughts at bay (because they’re always creeping), and has helped tremendously in building and maintaining that Godly relationship with me and God and with me and my baby. It has also brought me so much peace and comfort. Physically growing a human and then raising that human has its challenges, but every time I do this is a reminder to myself that I am not alone, that He is with me, and that all I have to do is include Him. Hope you enjoy these scriptures, and feel free to add your favorites in the comment section. And just for the record, it is never too late to start doing this.

I 100% agree that those prayers feel so strong when it’s over the life of an unborn child. I remember feeling overwhelmed during my prayers – like sharing a connection that only God has with your baby. It’s such a powerful thing.
