Sharing my favorite green smoothie with you, and I hope this smoothie becomes a staple in your household like it is in mine. Ok, so let me be honest. I love this smoothie because it is extremely easy to make and the ingredients are healthy and easy to find at just about every store.
For this smoothie, you will need:
1 big handful of baby spinach
1 banana
1 cup of frozen mangoes
1.5 cup of almond milk
½ cup of ice
½ teaspoon of chia seeds
½ teaspoon of hemp seeds
1 tablespoon of honey
OPTIONAL: Very small amount of kale. Kale is very strong and you definitely do not want the kale to override the taste of the fruits. I use kale when I want to make a superfood smoothie 🙂
Start with adding the softest or most liquid ingredient into a blender. Preferably in this order: almond milk, baby spinach, kale, banana, frozen mangoes, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and honey. Blend for about 30 seconds, then add in your ice and blend until desired consistency.
I find it best to use a blender that has a smoothie button. The consistency usually ends up better. Here is the blender that I have. We love it, but it is pretty loud. So making smoothies early in the morning does not exist in our household.
